There are three ways to ship your motorcycle. When deciding how to ship your bike can be confusing. WolfePack Motorcycle Shipping does everything possible to protect your bike no matter what service you choose.
Below is explanations of each type of service. Clients that want the most amount of protection choose the crate service, this is usually chosen when shipping your bike overseas, to protect it from the ocean elements. Putting your bike on a skid is extremely common for clients that are shipping luxury motorcycles a long distance, example coast to coast. Clients that ship shorter distances choose roll on roll off as this is the least expensive way to go.
Please discuss your thoughts and needs with your customer service representative, so you can make an educated decision on shipping your motorcycle.
Your bike is secured to the floor of the trailer. This is a secure way to transport. Requires the carrier/drive to push or drive your bike onto the trailer. The most popular form of transporting your bike.
Your bike will be secured to the inside of a wooden crate (Box) and loading onto a truck. This is the safest option. Requires an additional charge. This type of transport require some extra preparation. All fluids must be drained, the battery must be disconnected, and removal of mirrors, handlebars, and saddle bags may be required. This type of service can limit the types of trucks your motorcycle can be loaded into.
Roll on roll off is the most common way to ship your bike. If you choose to ship using a crate or skid, all motorcycles should be strapped and secured to the base of the crate or skid. It is not recommended for your bike to be secured to be base with anything other than a ratchet strap. Ropes slip and loosen and more significantly it prevents falling over inside if it is tied properly. WolfePack Motorcycle Shipping can supply ratchets if needed. It is encouraged and recommended that crating or skidding be done by a professional packing service. It is important to know the dimensions of your bike when calling customer service to place a pickup request.
Sports bike (L x W x H): 2200 x 850 x 1200mm
Cruiser (L x W x H): 2450 x 950 x 1300mm
It is not uncommon for motorcycles to be smaller or larger than the dimensions, they are intended to present an average.
WolfePack Motorcycle Transport crates all motorcycles being transported overseas.
